INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING COLLEGE APPLICATIONS
AND TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS
ATTENTION SENIORS:
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING COLLEGE APPLICATIONS AND TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS Whether you are applying to a college on-line or not, you must submit each application in one of the large white envelopes that you must buy in the bookstore. The price of each envelope includes the postage so you do not have to give us stamps as well. Of course you must write the address of the college on each envelope. If you apply on-line, what must be put in the large envelope? The only thing that you need to put in the envelope for an on-line application is a form called the “Secondary School Report.” This is the title of the form from the common application and you simply must fill-out the top portion of the form that includes your name and address. We will attach your school recommendation and your transcript. As long as you have sent everything else on-line, such as essays and the fee, there is nothing else to be included in the envelope for an on-line application. If you don’t apply on-line, what must be put in the large envelope? In this case, everything except the teacher recommendations must be inserted in the envelope. This information will include essays, supplements, a check for the fee, the application itself, and anything else you want to send to the school. Concerning the teacher recommendations, you should address a regular small white envelope for each recommendation and give these envelopes to the teacher along with one “Teacher Evaluation” form from the common application. The teacher will complete the recommendation and mail them separately. The only exceptions are Boston College, Syracuse Univ, and George Washington Univ. For these schools, the teacher must return the completed recommendation to the College Placement Office so that the entire package can be mailed together. |
